The Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel Soria, has appeared at his own request before Parliament's Industry, Energy and Tourism Committee to explain the expropriation of the Bolivian subsidiary of REE.

José Manuel Soria said that the Government regrets the expropriation of TDE but accepts that this decision complies with the Constitution and laws of Bolivia.

Unlike the way events unfolded with regard to the expropriation of YPF in Argentina, the Government of Bolivia has upheld dialogue with the Spanish authorities and with REE in order to reach an agreement and to compensate the Spanish company. The government of Spain will accompany and support REE in this negotiation process.
