The Government will temporarily suspend premiums for new special regime facilities

It is intended to temporarily suspend a payment system which entails costs which are too high for the electricity system and lead to a continuously rising tariff deficit.

This measure will not threaten the security of the supply or compliance with the European Union's renewable energy targets.

Procedures to pre-allocate payment will be temporarily suspended and financial incentives for new electricity production plants based on cogeneration, renewable energy and waste will also be halted temporarily.

This will not affect facilities which are already operational or already pre-registered.
